    It’s Christmas…

While everyone’s telling me that they can’t sense the Christmas feel this year, I am feeling quite on the contrary. Usually during the Christmas season, I always find it hard to really indulge and soak in the joyous atmosphere of Christmas because I’ll normally be busy collecting data and stats for the various Christmas services. But this year, the happy feeling keeps coming back and I’m glad it’s Christmas. Loving every moment of it!

    24Dec 020

As always, my church’s Christmas services never fails. And so glad I could attend the service last night by sitting in the main hall! My dear hubby took care of Baby Jayne in the nursery so that I could attend the service. The Christmas drama this year is moving and embodies a great and meaningful message. I think it can touch a chord in the hearts of most people because it talks about love with parents, siblings and spouse. It was the same Christmas story of Mary, Joseph and Jesus, but the angle taken was more contemporary this year. I like it.

      24Dec 022

After Pastor Kong’s simple & impactful sermon, it was time for altar call, and we hit our highest record number of new friends who responded to altar call! The area at stage front was fully packed and the aisles on both sides were filled up! It was such a touching moment. When I see people give their hearts to Jesus, with tears in their eyes, I am reminded of the time I gave my heart to Jesus. Without Him, I will not be who I am today.

    I Love You, Jesus! =)

    My Journey To A License

I had a most nerve-wreaking time this afternoon. I went for my driving Basic Theory Test!

     Picture1

Seriously, when was the last time I actually had to sit for an exam or test?? I was so not used to it!

I reached the driving centre at about 1.35pm as my test was scheduled at 2pm. Almost  the whole waiting area was packed with people pouring over their theory books, doing last-minute studying. The atmosphere was tense! They started registration at 1.45pm and we were allocated specific computer terminals to do our test.

Just before the commencement of the test, they played a video of instructions on doing the test. Frankly, I was quite nervous. I was really worried that I could not answer the questions as I didn’t really prepare much for the test. We were given 50 minutes to complete 50 questions and I thought that was so rushed!

So when we were told that we could start, I quickly punched in my password and started the test. I tried to answer all the questions as fast as I could, as I kept thinking that 50 minutes was very short. Thank God the questions were all manageable and I could answer most of them confidently.

Finally reached the last question and I submitted my answers, and waited for the result screen to appear 3 seconds later. 1, 2, 3

    TADA! :):)

    Picture2

So nerve-wreaking, don’t you agree?? The result appears immediately upon completion of the test! But thank God I passed and can now go on to the Advanced Theory Test! One step closer to my license!! Weeee weeeeee!

The webcast is finally up and I had a great time laughing at myself in the video! It makes me feel creepy hearing my own voice in the video, but hey, it’s all in good fun!!! =D

    Fat Boys Burger Bar

    Quirky names grab my attention.

So when we drove past this burger bar called Fat Boys, I told myself I have to try it someday. We finally did step into the burger bar along Upper Thomson Road yesterday!

I like the decor. If I’m going to have my own shop in future, I’m also going to paint my name on the ceiling.

     13Dec 078

    Wall stickers. I like.

    13Dec 076

     13Dec 072

They have specialty burgers all put together for you if you are lazy to think of what to put into your burgers. Otherwise, you can also choose all the ingredients from the burger bar and put together your own creation! They have wholemeal wheat bun, white sesame bun etc. Patties come in beef patty, fatty beef patty, pork pattie, grilled chicken patty and veggie patty. Ingredients to put into your burgers are abundant, from grilled mushrooms to bacons and cheese, etc. You can also choose what sauce to put into it.

    13Dec 074

The corn chowder is yummy! Full of corns and very thick & nice!

    13Dec 086

This is the burger I chose – Holy Caesar! White sesame seed bun, grilled chicken patty, bacon and caesar salad! Very NICE.

    13Dec 087

Every burger comes with thick fat fries! Expect to spend around $15 when you are there.

    My 1st Icing Experience!

A BIG THANKS to omy for giving me the opportunity to be part of a meaningful event last Thursday. I had a most fun time icing and decorating my own log cake! =D

This cake decoration competition is organized by BreadTalk’s newest, snazzy specialty cake shop addition, Icing Room. As part of their community contribution for the Christmas season, they will duplicate 15 cakes of the top prize winning design and distribute them to a charity organization of the winner’s choice. Meaningful, isn’t it? Christmas is all about giving and bringing joy and hope to the less fortunate. I am so honored to be one of the 3 bloggers invited to be a part of this charity drive!

We went to The Icing Room located at Jurong Point. The whole shop has such a Princessy feel, don’t you think?

     3Dec 001

    3Dec 002

It’s basically a shop that sells pretty cakes & cookies, and also a place where you can decorate your own cakes to personalize them. I was just in awe of all the pretty things they have. It just makes the Christmas spirit jump right out!

AND ARE YOU READY FOR THIS????

This is the chocolate log cake I will be working on!!

    3Dec 021

What we are given to decorate the cake..

    3Dec 023

Because all 3 bloggers have never done anything like this in our entire lives before, the chef did a demonstration for us.

    3Dec 028

    3Dec 033

    3Dec 035

    3Dec 031

    3Dec 041

She did it amazingly fast (not surprising since she does this for a living!) and finished the whole cake in no more than 5 mins!

    3Dec 044

It’s my turn!!!!! Gosh, so nervous!

     3Dec 049

    3Dec 050

It was not as easy as it seems. The cream and icing comes out in amounts totally unexpected. I get big blotches that totally destroyed my original design and I had to make many emergency rescues. Haha!

    3Dec 051

     3Dec 056

And it’s nerve-wreaking because everyone is staring at you making a mess out of the originally-lovely cake, and a camera shooting you from every angle.

    3Dec 058

    3Dec 060

    3Dec 064

It’s almost done, can you see??!

    3Dec 069

    And VIOLA!

    3Dec 075

    My other 2 blogger friends!

     3Dec 045

     3Dec 080

Finally all 3 of us are done with our designs!!! Gorgeous for a first-try, don’t you agree??? =D

     3Dec 081

    3Dec 083

    3Dec 084

Mine! The main theme is ‘Things in the sky’. Haha! You will find stars, clouds, rainbow, snow and of course, the Christmas tree. =P

    3Dec 086

And finally, we ended with an interview in Mandarin! Hahaha.. We shared our views about the meaning of the competition, which charity organisation we would like to help, and how we would spread the spirit of Christmas!

    3Dec 102

I really enjoyed myself at the event. It was an interesting experience, not just decorating the cake, but also in filming for a publicity video! We had to follow the instructions of the cameraman to do certain poses, actions, and some of them are really hilarious! I think when the video gets uploaded on the website, we will laugh ourselves silly! What’s more important though, was the meaning behind the whole event – and that is to bring love and joy to the  less fortunate. We, too, can be a blessing to someone this Christmas!

Thank you once again, omy and The Icing House! :)

Wedding Bells Are In The Air!

I had a fun Sunday last weekend – One that was soaked in bliss & happiness!

My dearest friend, Joyce’s wedding is coming up in a couple of months’ time, and I went for my bridesmaid gown fitting at My Bridal Room!

I’m not exactly her bridesmaid, cos I’m coordinating her wedding, but she’s kind enough to let me take one of the gowns! Hee hee, how fun! =) *When was the last time I wore something like that??!*

    29 Nov 027

The place was packed, packed, packed! Just check out the number of shoes at the entrance!

    29 Nov 032

    29 Nov 023

    Oh lovely! :)

    29 Nov 022

    29 Nov 026

    29 Nov 029

The very lovely couple. :) I’m SO HAPPY for them!!! And I seriously can’t wait for their BIG DAY!!! woo hoooo!

    29 Nov 028

This is extremely exciting for me, because almost all my good friends are not married yet. Not joking. Some of my bestest friends are all swinging bachelorettes and I’ve not had a chance to really be part of a wedding of a good friend! This is like one of the firsts! I think I might have friends who are way too young. =P
