Disappointed

Yes I am disappointed. Very disappointed in fact.

Is 'fun' all that matters?? Is it true that as long as you can find fun among a group of friends, those people will become the most important people to you? Are we really so superficial?

I am disappointed because what one says reflects the heart. It doesn't matter if the person is just joking. Because what you say represents you. Your mouth just says what's in your heart. You can say something wrong for once. It's forgivable. But if you keep saying it 'accidentally' or 'jokingly', nobody will think you are joking anymore.

I am disappointed not because we are not the first choice. I am disappointed because it seems whatever we have put in have come to nothing. It seems that just because the other side has become more interesting or more fun, everything that we have done has become of no importance. Is it really like that? Because if it is not, he wouldn't have said those things. And I take it seriously. No such thing as joking about things like that.

We cannot say anything just because we like to say it, or so that we can see the reactions of others simply because it's 'fun'. Then what kind of person are you? Do you treasure friendship? Do you really know who cares, who doesn't? Have you thought about what you do to others by your actions? Actually, does it matter to you anyway??

OK, enough of venting my frustrations.

One thing is so important. If we desire to be a leader for God, we must watch our tongue and the things we say. Perhaps we are still young, and can say whatever we want to say without any consequences. But still God holds us accountable. Age is not an issue in God's eyes. Otherwise, God wouldn't have used David to slay Goliath in his youth. But if we insist on saying frivolous things, we will eat the fruits of our tongue.

The tongue is only one organ among many on our body. Yet, the bible devotes a great part of Proverbs to mentioning the tongue, and emphasizing the importance of guarding our tongue and not letting it rule over our life. The worst thing that can happen is after God has called us to be a leader for him, and we continue living our lives as if that;s not going to happen, or continue doing things that will hinder the vision from coming to pass. Not restraining our tongue is one of those things.

At the end of day, let us remember it is God who gave us the chance to serve, and not the other way round. Stop living as if God or anybody for that matter, owes us anything. Because it is a privilege to be in the House of God, and among people who loves God and loves us.
