Sometimes We Have To Cry

I came across an article this morning on gospel singer Nicole C Mullen. It told of how she overcame the struggles of life and became who she is today by the grace of God. In the article, she said, "I'm learning that a lot of times God's will is not always the easiest path. You will have to cry sometimes. You have to take a step back to learn to go four steps forward. I'm learning not to buck God's will."

I totally agree with Nicole. God's will is definitely not the easiest path sometimes. Challenges and more challenges keep coming our way everyday. Sometimes, there's not even time to take a breather. That's why Christianity is not as simple as warming the seats in the church sanctuary or wearing a diamond cross pendant on our necks. Christianity is a lifestyle. And one that requires the willingness to sacrifice. Along the way, we may cry. We may stop & question ourselves why do we even bother. But alot of times, that's just the way God has chosen to mould us into who He has called us to be.

Was reading my good friend's blog and found that she's feeling very low during this period. This is for you, friend. You know who you are...

I may not know what's causing all the emotions in you now. May be your hectic work, may be because of burnout, may be because of a spiritual dryness. Whatever it may be, please remember you have friends like me who's praying for you.

How many years have we known each other? Many many years. And I think I've seen enough of your downs over the years that I can say confidently that you will stand up strong again and walk on boldly. I know you will overcome and grow stronger in your faith this time round as well, just like you always did.

We've been through many different times and seasons together. Times when friends we love betrayed our trust and disappointed us, times when others looked at us with cold eyes because they didn't understand why we did the things we did, times when people don't believe in us and think that we will regret what we did, times when we celebrated the victories in each others' lives, times when we cheered each other on, times we only had each other to hold on to ...

Through the different episodes in our lives, it's clear that God is the One who has sustained us and pulled us through. Even when we felt discouraged and wished that more people can understand, even when we felt completely lousy because we messed things up again, even when we already tried so hard and yet still failed, God was never absent during any of those times. And rest assured this time round, He is still watching you, making sure you are never far from His sight.

It's alright to cry. So just cry it all out to God! I am sure you will feel better letting out all those frustration. (And we both know that you love to cry, right? Hee..) But after all the crying, make some critical decisions that will change your circumstances, ok? Whatever it may be, I am sure God will speak to you and give you the assurance in your heart that everything will turn out just fine.

加油!I am praying for you. :)
