Watching NDP In an Unconventional way!
Isaiah & I went to Marina South to have steamboat for dinner on National Day. We were thinking of going to a place that's quiet and not exactly where the celebrations are held. Little did we know that they set up a stage at Marina South and there's also a carnival going on! Oh my... the crowd was...... and we had to queue while walking all the way from the MRT to the bus stop. But I must say SBS did a great job in clearing the crowd. : ) Then we saw tankers and special military vehicles with children and members of public inside... it's part of the carnival activities.. so fun...
We finally settled down at one of the steamboat place, which is almost deserted because most of the people are at the carnival. When we sat down, we realised that the stage was just across the road infront of us! And from where we were, we could see the big screen rather clearly! It was great because it's like eating steamboat and watching NDP at the same time!!
Then when the actual NDP started, because Padang was very nearby, the performing aeroplanes, all kinds of helicopters and planes flew across the sky above us. They were so near to us, just above our heads! And super loud, man! Haha... The formations were superb..
Then after steamboat, we decided to walk towards the stage area to catch the fireworks. And finally, the fireworks started! Oh My! The place where we were was really the best place cos we could see the fireworks at Marina, and also the fireworks at Padang cos it was so near! It's like watching two sets of fireworks, man!! And there were some new designs I have never seen before, got star-shaped fireworks and fireworks with three rings... wow..
After the fireworks ended, we went to play billiards. Sigh.. long time no play.. totally out of form... hahaha... then we finally dragged ourselves out of the centre one and half hours later, and made our way to the selegie tau huay! Nice nice nice....... then it's finally home...
It's a fun National Day! Especially the nice surprise in catching the entire NDP and the fireworks!! So, you see... Marina South is a very good place to go to during National Day!!
