Lanterns in a Pavillion
Tonight my CG had a fun night at Bishan Park. We celebrated the Mid Autumn Festival with our friends in a pavillion in the park. The park was really quiet, with almost no one in sight, which was a good thing because there were about 30 of us in the pavillion doing something rather rowdy - Lantern-making competition!
Didn't know that making lanterns can be so fun and exciting. What amazed me the most was the creativity of the members. There were 5 teams in all, and every team had their own way of creating a lovely & functional lantern! Raw materials were provided for them and they had to make a lantern out of whatever was given to them. After completion, they also had to present their lantern in an interesting way, to win the favour of the honorable judges - yours truly, Isaiah & Gerald.
Every lantern had their distinctiveness & attractiveness, so we had a hard time deciding who's the winner. In any case, I felt that the winning lantern deserved the prize. :) Best of all, we all had fun with our friends. It felt very much like the Mid Autumn Festival indeed because we served mooncakes & green tea (packet ones though!), peanuts, melon seeds, pomelo & even guessed lantern riddles! Haha..
The only person who probably didn't enjoy the evening was Joey. She was sweating throughout the evening and was fussing & crying each time I wanted to sit down. It was way too tiring for her, and yet she couldn't sleep because of the heat & the noise. She was not even interested when Isaiah lit the sparklers to amuse her. Poor gal, by the time I boarded my taxi to go home, she was totally exhausted & just slouched on me energyless and eventually fell asleep.
