A Pastor's Heart

I think Pastor Ming led a good prayer meeting today in church.

Unlike a typical prayer meeting that we all expect, it was half praying and half receiving the Word of God.

Pst Ming was one of the 2 pioneer members who followed Pst Kong to start City Harvest Church. He has been faithfully serving and growing the church for the last 17 years. I love it when Pastor Ming teaches bible studies or leads prayer meetings, cos he is just so anointed and led by the Spirit. A plus point is he is a very funny man.

Today at prayer meeting, he taught the people how to pray in groups of 3 and what each person should be doing when one is leading in prayers. He also made a group of people 'act' out what he was trying to bring across about binding the devil, and how things happen in heaven simply because of our prayers. The way he put across was really so funny & humourous and the whole congregation was laughing! But still, the message got across and I am sure everyone left the place learning something new and powerful that they will not forget.

That's how I felt when I was listening to Pastor Ming sharing. He really has a Pastor's heart.

A Pastor's heart serves to edify, impart and empower. It goes the extra mile to help his sheeps grow and become better. It does not condemn and does not criticise. It only showers love and heals wounds. A Pastor's heart is filled with love & compassion.

And that's what Pastor Ming did. He empowered the people to pray effectively and taught them how important it was to intercede and have faith in their prayers. He renewed the mindsets of the people that prayer meetings are boring and that it should actually be one of the most important events in church. During the last 30 mins of the prayer meetings, the presence of God was so tangible with His love as Pastor led the congregagtion to pray for themselves and to commit into God's Hands something they really want. It was so so so powerful. Goosebumps.... I believe everyone in the hall felt ministered and peaceful in their hearts.

We may not all become pastors one day, but we can have a pastor's heart. We can pray to God to give us a pastor's heart, one that will become a channel to bring about the love & restoration of God. Let's be one of those who can be there when someone needs us. Amen.
