The Unexpected Quake
Nobody would have expected the quake will hit. It was a natural disaster that couldn't have been prevented.
The death toll reported today has already hit 60,000. What a scary figure. And very devastating as well, considering most of the dead are teachers & students. Kids and young people who haven't had the chance of really enjoying this world. Everyday I watch the news and see horrifying footages of the quake scene, and really sad pictures of people who were sobbing & crying for their missing family members. Even though this is in China, it still felt close to the heart.
Nobody can explain why such a thing had to happen. I guess we will have all the answers when we see God one day. For now, I pray that God will bless these people. For those who are still alive, I pray that God will restore what they have lost and rebuild the place quickly so that everyone can move on with their lives, although I know it will take some time before they truly move on, that is if they ever do move on.
For the rest of us, let's remember to treasure what we have and thank God for every single day we get to spend with our loved ones. No more taking each other for granted, OK?
