My 7-course Dinner @ Dozo Restaurant
To celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary, my hubby brought me to a very nice restaurant in Valley Point Shopping Centre – Dozo. What a great time we had!
Dozo is a fine-dining Japanese restaurant and the whole place spelt ‘A-T-A-S’ when we stepped in. The whole restaurant was very dimly lit, with scarlet velvet carpet and wall furnishings. There were several private dining rooms as well, and there were servers greeting us at the door all the way to our table.
See this flask of branch-lookalike sticks?
They are not just for decoration purposes. In fact, they are fried noodle sticks of different kinds – Soba, udon, etc. Very interesting right?? =) The moment we were seated, our designated butler told us to enjoy the noodle snack while deciding what to eat. =)
Check out the menu… When you dine at Dozo, you enjoy a 7-course dinner at the price of $59+++, and each course of the dinner comes with 5 different items for you to choose from. There’s a combination platter as welcome dish, starter, side dish, soup, beverage, main course and dessert.
As were were browsing through the menu and deciding what to eat, they served us 2 mini glasses of icy cold juice. I think it’s some sour plum juice + something else. It was sourish sweet and very refreshing!
The welcome dish – Combination platter!
Fois Gras on a piece of bread..
Scallop with asparagus
Smoked salmon chunk
Then came the starters… Isaiah’s sashimi platter. Very fresh!
My crab claw salad. Very yummy & appetising salad sauce with mango bits, dragonfruit cubes and veggies. I enjoyed it tremendously!
Then came the side dishes! Their service was fast and meticulous. =)
Isaiah ordered escargots baked in cheese..
I tried escargots for the first time in my life!! They actually taste like mushrooms. =.= Pretty nice.
Mine was a dish of stir-fried mushrooms, which was very yummy and delicious. The round thing at the other end of the dish was deep fried mashed potatoes. Very, very yummy!
The ring thing is a croissant bread. Crispy and nice.
My hubby enjoying his dinner. =)
Next came the soups!
Isaiah chose the Beef Consommé, and it was a very sweet clear broth with a beef slice.
And mine was a crab bisque cappuccino. It was served like a cup of cappuccino with a layer of foam on the top. Very rich and creamy!!!
It was so rich I actually felt full after drinking it! And I haven’t even reached the main course! The crab claw there was meant for me to stir the soup with. =)
Finally, the next dish was the main course! Isaiah ordered their beef tenderloin on hot stone. It was interesting!! He had to cook the slices of beef on the hot stone, and it was oh-so-succulent and yummy!!!
Mine was baked tiger prawns with fried thyme. The taste was unique and I liked it!!! =) Very deliciously done.
This was yet another dish that’s very rich in flavours. There was cream and cheese stuffed in the prawns and baked together with thyme.
By now, we were both very stuffed!
Then came the next course, which was a much-needed refreshment at this point – 2 pots of icy cold tea! Mine was the guava flower tea and Isaiah had the apple flower tea. His pot of tea even came with apple cubes. =) The slightly sourish tea immediately refreshes our taste buds! How refreshing!
And finally, the last course of the dinner arrived. My dessert was chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice-cream! Very sinfully yummy!!!
And Isaiah’s was the caramelised pudding! :)
Just when the desserts arrived, our butler surprised us with a complimentary dessert to congratulate us on our 8th wedding anniversary! What a very nice touch by the restaurant!
Our very humorous butler told us that the complimentary dish will not taste as nice as our own desserts, but it’s special because he wrote those words for us with the chocolate fudge! Haha!
What a very wonderful dining experience we had at Dozo! Thumbs-up!!!!!! =D

This place reminds me of Tao restaurant at Pomo Centre. It's cheaper at Tao at $29.80++ for 7 course. Food's good there too! :)
Thanks Jerb!
