Do not grieve the Holy Spirit..
Cell group message was great. 'Do not grieve the Holy Spirit'.. I think we grieve the Holy Spirit more often than we realise it. But imagine the gravity of it. Holy Spirit is God, and to grieve our God is unthinkable. Of course, we are imperfect people, we do things that hurt God. But at the end of the day, I guess the most important thing is still to come back to the heart of worship again.
We all go through seasons in life. Sometimes, we are on the mountain top experiencing breakthroughs after breakthroughs. Other times, it just feels like the end of the world, like we can't live up to the standard of God, feel so condemned in our spirit, and feel as if this time, we are done for, God's mercy must be used up already. It's all natural. We are not perfect saints. We still have emotions. We live in a broken down world.
The key is to keep our faith in the midst of it all. No matter what happens in our life, it should never cause our faith level to dip. Because if we allow that to happen, it is telling God that our happiness and joy is dependent on things that happen in our life, and not because of Him. But how wrong can this be?? Surely, knowing that our Creator loves us, and Jesus has overcome death and given us victory, is reason enough to smile in a storm?
Personal choices? Yah, very true. It's a personal choice whether you want to have a touch from God. God is always in our midst. When two or three are gathered together, there He will be among us. Surely the bible doesn't lie. So, where do some people complain that they can sense God?? The key is really in their hunger. Are you hungry enough today? Hungry enough for His touch that you are willing to lay aside every mind-boggling problem? Not because it's easy to do it, but because you know it's not worth it to sacrifice the presence and touch of God with worries and burdens.
Make it your personal choice today. That you'll tap into the presence of God, take heed of His voice, and never ever grieve the Holy Spirit everyday of your life.
You'll see the breakthrough, I promise you.
