From Faithfulness to Fruitfulness

The basis of serving God is of course faithfulness. The bible says that if we are faithful in little things, God will give us charge over greater things. If we are faithful to Jesus, He will be faithful to us. But the point is, do we stop at being faithful?

As we grow in our maturity, we need to understand that faithfulness is the cornerstone of our actions, and will always be required of us. But we are to move to fruitfulness. If we stop at the stage of faithfulness, we will not be able to breakthrough the level of growth in God. We will not be able to experience the greater blessings that are instore for us, prepared for us by God. Thereafter, we must go on to fruitfulness. Don't stop at faithfulness.

How do we define Fruitfulness? It means that our works reap the desired results or fruits that are to come along with it. Instead of just completing everything we are told to do with a spirit of excellence, we are able to reap the results that will benefit the kingdom of God.

As we are growing in the Lord, we learn faithfulness by attending cell group and service regularly, and understand that we need to be faithful to our salvation and keep the faith in us. But when faithfulness becomes second nature to us, we need to move on to becoming a fruitful person by bringing in the harvest into the church. We need to influence the people around us, and let them see the light of God through our lives. We have a responsibility to lead people to Christ.

Many people will only stop at being a faithful person. They can be people who are serving God faithfully with a spirit of excellence. They can even be core helpers in their cell groups or cellgroup leaders, but they never really go beyond faithfulness into the realm of fruitfulness. At the end of the day, we will only experience the greatest calling on our lives by becoming a fruitful person.

Are you faithful or fruitful?
