Only in the Darkness can you see the Light..
A light can only be seen in the darkness. That is why Christians act as light in this dark world. We act as an illumination in the darkened hearts of man. Darkness is scary. Darkness is unpredictable. Darkness is hard to see clearly. That is why we are all called to shine in darkness. Only in the darkest places can our light be seen clearly.
Many a times, because of our identity as the light, we have to be placed in situations or places which are dark, hopeless, scary, intolerable. It is understandable that we would feel suffocated, fearful, despondent and weary in the dark place where we are. We're afterall human beings. Who doesn't want to be in a happy place all day long? Yet, we are called for a greater purpose. Greater than what we can imagine or think. Far greater.
Serene.. I know it's been difficult. The long-drawn war against disappointments, discouragements and false promises are indeed draining. But I really feel that God did not bring you so far just to make you lose hope completely. Surely God saw everything that you went through. He knows how much you have endured in your workplace because you choose to do so, and not because you have no other choice. And I know God appreciates that. Hold on, my dear sister. To be a victor is never easy or without a price to pay. Know that you are in the will of God. God won't let all these that you have endured come to zero. He will make sure you are rewarded 500 times over. I know He will, because He is a God who is like that. Just as how He came through for me, He will do so for you too. Trust God. : )
Ivan.. It's not been easy, and I know your struggles. To be in a place that blasphemes against God is not easy definitely. But you have done well so far. You've endured and ploughed through, holding on to your faith. Don't give up at a time like now. Continue to press on, press on, press on. Surely God has seen how in various situations, you chose to praise Him and honour Him instead of following the others in worldly actions or thoughts. Surely God has seen and will not let your efforts and perseverance go to waste? I know that! So, brother.. continue to hang on. God is a good God no matter what happens.
