An Influence that Never Diminishes

Yesterday the staff and leaders had a lunch gathering with Sun before she flies back to LA on Friday until the end of the year. She'll only be back for 3 days in June for some promo activities, but that's about all we'll get to see her for the rest of the year.

It was a great gathering filled with love, joy and laughter. I was so touched when some of the pastors and pioneer members of City Harvest went on stage to share about how they grew up under the leadership and discipleship of Sun ever since CHC started years ago. The pastors especially were servants of God who commanded great respect and authority, yet when they were sharing about the time when they were growing in the Lord and how Sun discipled them and encouraged them and brought them to where they are today, they looked really shy. : ) Just like how a member will behave infront of their cell group leader. Sun was afterall their CGL before. : )

Indeed, there is an influence that will not die off or diminish. A touch in someone's life can change that person forever. Sun is a channel used by God to raise up many great men and women of God. She's the matchmaker of many blissful couples in our church and she is a wonderful counselor and pastor to all.

When asked what is the biggest sacrifice she had to make to do the crossover project and to go into the secular world as a pop singer, she said it's to give up doing pastoral work and counseling. She's always known that her calling is to be a pastor and she loves seeing how lives are turned around when a sound counsel is given. Yet, when God called her, she had to obey and sometimes big sacrifices are needed when we choose to pursue the high calling of God.

Infront of man, she may be a representative of great breakthroughs and successes in many of the things she undertakes. Yet, not many will get to witness the pains, persecution and sacrifices she had to make just to bring the church to where we are today. Like what Pst Aries said, which I totally agreed, Sun allowed the church to stand upon her shoulders for the past few years and that is why we have come so far as a church. Undoubtedly, it is God who moves and He is the One who brings everything to pass in this church, yet without a vessel who is willing and anointed, it is hard to see the work of God come through in such a mighty wave.

Sun, we love you and are praying for you!
You're our INSPIRATION.
