Eighteen Chefs
We had lunch at Eighteen Chefs cafe today!
The cafe is located at Level 1 of Eastpoint Mall, and the special thing about this cafe is that it’s opened by an ex-convict who turned over a new leaf after he was released from prisons and went on to learn culinary skills. His cafe employs ex-convicts as well and endeavors to help delinquent youths find a purpose in their lives. A very noble commitment, I feel! :)
I like the casual feel in the cafe. Makes dining a comfortable experience.
The menu’s printed on the tables.
Graffiti is encouraged on the cafe glass door (I guessed so because they provided the highlighter markers!)
And so…
Ta-da!
Their signature dish is the Create-Your-Own Baked Rice or Baked Pasta. Just choose the sauce you like (from a list of 7 or 8 choices), choose your main ingredient (prawns, mushrooms, etc at varying prices) and whether you would like to top-up with other ingredients (every addition comes with a price of course). You can also add on different combos such as garlic bread + drink, garlic bread + drink + soup, etc. It’s really quite free play. :)
The garlic bread is nice. :)
My Baked Pasta with prawns
Ice cream. Anytime, man. :)
